CULTIVATING CARE (CULTIVANDO SALUD)

How do you connect thousands of migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families, living in isolated rural areas, with culturally-competent care?

This short documentary reveals the front-line workers that make outreach and enabling services (transportation, interpretation, case management, etc.) possible for North Carolina’s migrant farmworkers, advancing the mission of the North Carolina Farmworker Health Program, part of DHHS' Office of Rural Health. Relationships determine outcomes and Janeth Tapia and her team at a NCFHP contract site (NC Farmworkers Project) work hard to build them with Dr. Eugene Maynard his staff at the Benson Area Medical Center.
